I, You and Weeeeee at CrossLoop

Many people know and have heard about the new "Person of the Year" on Time Magazine - it is "I" or "You" or better still, "We".

Timecover_1It talks about new web-based businesses (i.e. Web2.0) that are driven by I, you or we, collectively through our content.

I thought this was a good opportunity to say that CrossLoop will always be about you. We at CrossLoop believe that our business will have one sole purpose - to make our users - you - be successful!

We believe if we do that well, the company will be successful - we call that "collateral success". If I may take the liberty of quoting Peter Drucker - The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer". We intend to do more - not just create and keep them, but delight them!

So, for CrossLoop, every year, you, I and us will be "Person of the Year" every moment of our existence

CrossLoop Applications

There are some obvious social applications of using CrossLoop with someone and the not so...I have a few thoughts below for each but we believe the users always know more and better. If you have more ideas or are using it differently, please do leave a comment and share your creativity with others.

The Obvious applications:

- tech support for friends and family, employees, and customers
- editing or sharing documents in real time and making instant decisions
- presenting or demonstrating a product

The "Not-So-Obvious" applications:

- shop together for someone in the family for the holidays
- download and configure communication applications, like Skype, GTalk etc for family to talk or chat for free always independent of location
- share photos/ slideshows and visit with family in real time instead of emailing them
- Train or teach someone any software application, language or anything else remotely i.e. e-learning
- Stumble together (a real fun one!)
- watch video clips together on a very high speed connection
- if you are a job seeker, maybe have someone you respect, help you fill out your profile on sites like LinkedIn or Jobster apart from getting a nice resume put together
- research or co-browse the web together
- help someone design a webpage or set up a storefront on Yahoo or ebay
- ?
- ?

Tell us more about applications with CrossLoop that you can think of even if you are not using it accordingly.

Good afternoon and Good Luck!

Rob Langhorne is "in the Loop"

You have probably by now become familiar with the faces at CrossLoop but here is a new one from our little Christmas party this week.

Crossloopteamchristmaslunch2006_2

Starting from the right at the back and going clockwise is Bob Silberstein, Lee Lorenzen, Tom Rolander, Matt Lorenzen and then me

We missed the two Joe(s) ...no pun intended ... Joe Stark and Joe Wein but we managed with two Roberts instead. You already know Robert (Bob) Silberstein and do you see the see the guy with the "No L" T shirt? Between Matt and I on the left?

That is Rob Langhorne and we are really excited to have him on board - he is a Mac guy... hint hint :)

Guys - please give it up (hope I sound like an MTV Music Video Awards Moderator) for Rob as we are very proud to have him on board with us!!

Good Afternoon and Good Luck everyone - have a stupendous weekend!

CrossLoop empowers Crystal Coast to support a Non-Profit

Anthony Muhaluk, President of Crystal Coast Technologies, has a really nice story to share with all of you about how he leveraged CrossLoop so here it is under our "User Stories" category.

Crystal Coast Technologies
is a web design firm that always works on helping out non-profits.  A little over a year ago, they created a website for a local non-profit
Carteret County Partnership for Children  and have provided computer tech support to them free of charge since then.  The non-profit has been very appreciative (and so are we!) and it gives Anthony's team a lot of personal pleasure to be able to support them.

The two offices are about 30 minutes away and they try to troubleshoot remotely as much as possible.  Until CrossLoop, they were troubleshooting their computers remotely using Microsoft Screen sharing program.  However, that often was less than desirable.

Recently when they had an email problem, both the teams got on Skype and had Carteret County Partnership for Children download CrossLoop all by themselves. They started a session and fixed their problem in a matter of minutes. Carteret County Partnership for Children loved the ease of use, that they were able to install it by themselves and of course, that it was free - something very valuable for a non-profit and those supporting one! Anthony loved the fact that he did not have to drive (or send one of his employees) 30 minutes to fix that problem!

According to Anthony: "It makes helping our non-profit clients easier on us since we don't usually charge them for this type of thing."

A classic "CrossLoop in the Trenches" story!

We love these stories that empower people doing good. If you. like us, have been inspired by this and have one that you want to share, please email me at mrinald@crossloop.com.

Good Night and Good Luck!

CrossLoop's Global Presence

As we said in the earlier post here - we are loving it! CrossLoop's international presence in 5 weeks, since we made it available to all of you, is now in 69 countries!! About 2/3 of the world still left to hike!

Hint Hint.....

I am curious and don't know - what is the shortest time known to have taken any technology product to be present in all countries and which company is that? Any takers?

Good Afternoon and Good Luck.....and yes - have a wonderful weekend!

"Listening, Learning and Loving it" Phase

Img_3644_1 After a wonderful Thanksgiving break up in beautiful cold white (as you can see on the left) and wet Oregon, its been very exciting to see all our users leverage CrossLoop so effectively.

We looove the user emails and Skype chats on how people are helping their parents, customers and employees are all over the world - the absolute common denominator has been the ease of use and the simplicity!

Apart from our users taking time to inspire us ahead with those emails, we have been getting some really good suggestions and feedback as well on the "use cases" and these are very important to any company and hence we like to call this our "listening, learning and loving it" phase.

So if you have a thought, an idea or a suggestion - anything - please do not hesitate to email me (My name is Mrinal) directly at mrinald@crossloop.com.  We  record this internally and use them very effectively towards product development since we do not know it all  and we are hoping we can work with all of you. I do want you to be patient with us since we are really small with limited resources but boundless in terms of passion and working with people!

It is a Friday today so have a wonderful weekend - Good Afternoon and Good Luck!
